IMPORTANT HEAT EXHAUSTION PREVENTION
Houston is hot and humid during the summer and while everyone should do their best to have a great time, you should also take precautions to prevent heat related illnesses and keep an eye out for others who might be experiencing heat exhaustion or heat stroke. We have a large medical team and first AID STATIONS throughout the festival. Should you or someone else need medical attention, just ask the nearest person to you to find any of our staff members who can assist you.Click here for a PDF containing signs and symptoms of heat related health issues.
Prevent heat exhaustion and heatstroke by wearing light colored, loose fitting clothes; drink plenty of water- if you're not peeing every few hours, you might be dehydrated; wear sunscreen and a hat; take a break in the shade if you feel like the heat is getting to you.
SAFETY FIRST, KIDS!
OUR MEDICS ARE EMPLOYEES AND/OR SPONSORS OF THE FESTIVAL AND ARE ON SITE TO ASSIST YOU, NOT ARREST YOU. REFUSAL OF MEDICAL ATTENTION, ESPECIALLY IN THE HOUSTON HEAT AND HUMIDTY, CAN BE FATAL.
PLEASE MAKE NOTE OF THE VARIOUS FIRST AID STATIONS WHICH ARE STAFFED BY VOLUNTEER MEDICS.
IF YOU OR A FRIEND NEED MEDICAL ASSISTANCE AND ARE UNABLE TO LOCATE OR SAFELY WALK TO FIRST AID STATION, RAISE YOUR HAND AND SHOUT FOR A MEDIC. ALL STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS ARE TRAINED TO HELP YOU LOCATE THE NEAREST MEDIC.
